This one has been taunting me for some time, hanging in the store, teasing me every visit, daring me to play it again and again and again. It’s my third attempt at crackwood, and perhaps this one is the charm. The neck feels natural, not heavy, and it gets more tacky the more I play it, which is awesome for my style of gripping.

Sonically, it's light and airy like a brioche, but there is a biting snarl as if garlic butter had been slathered all over it. 57/08’s are such an incredible match for rosewood necks. The neck and body complement each other perfectly, allowing the whole guitar to resonate quickly, with very little activation energy. It responds with the agility of an automobile tuned to take corners at high speeds yet has the feel of a Towne Car on a rolling country road.

The top is also gorgeous, like freshly baked bread adorned with stripes of butter on the crown. Lame pictures, but I’d rather be playing it tonight than editing pics.

Gorgeous - is that Solana? Love the coloring on the back with the neck...my crackwood was a love at first touch affair with my 408 Brazzy. I am sure there will be another in the future. Play the crap out of her!
