Ordered this last Monday, had to wind its way from west coast to east coast:

It was a bit bright outside when I took these, surrounded by white concrete, so the contrast of the quilt gets washed out. Here is a mildly enhanced photo to show you what it looks like in person with a more direct light source:

I just played it through my Archon, with all knobs pretty well at noon. Wow! This thing rocks! The ebony board feels quick and slick.

Nice PRS signature on headstock:

I am going to swap out the strings for something a touch more hefty - the 10-46s, even with the slightly longer 25.5" scale, are still pretty flabby at Drop C tuning for my preferences. I'm going to try a D'Daddario 11-50 "balanced tension" set, may swap in a slightly heavier "C" (top thick) string if it still feels wiggly.

That satin neck is something else! And I love the flatter fretboard for (somewhat sluggish, messy) shredding!

I played it again last night, with my wife on the drum kit, and we hammered away at fast-ish and slower djenty stuff (I suppose the slower djent stuff would be doom?), and then some nicely deep ringing clean tones too. It was quick and easy to re-tune to regular Standard D for a couple of songs, too.

Great feeling guitar, glad I picked it up!

I might try to find a darker-wine colored strap though. The one in the photo above is just a little too light colored to my eyes.

Got my new strings in - Balanced mediums (11-50). I decided to just swap the Low E at first (stock 46 to 50), to see how it felt.

Yep, now that's what I'm talking about! The low E is no longer a flabby mess.

I was going to put on the whole set, but I think I will leave everything else as-is for now, and see whether I am happy with the rest of the strings stock, or I want to beef up one, a couple, or all of the rest.

She's a beauty
Congrats

OK, gonna try linking a video I did this afternoon after replacing that one string. I had recorded a riff in my looper to hear what it sounded like, and then got inspired to do some lead stuff on top. I asked my wife to video me so I could record the riff, and how I was soloing over it (I quite liked the different modes I was shifting in and out of), since I tend to forget the bits of inspiration otherwise. It turned out good enough to share with you folks. Sorry about the new string end still flapping about...

EDIT: swapping out video link for one that is a much smaller file size:

So if video doesn't work, let me know in case I busted something.

Better pics just taken outside in the sunshine (finally had a chance, been raining every evening this week!). This shows the quilting much better, not as washed out:
