My first PRS. Been a couple of years since I started considering a PRS (SE) with a particular interest in this one. But them being discontinued made me want to not chase it obsessively.

So now seems to have been the right time. And it's what I hoped it would be, the acoustic response, the feel, the vibe, the jumbo frets ... except for the pickups. As you can tell from the pics...
Neck was fine, but the bridge needed just a couple of drops of some more juice. Putting in a Gibson 498T and 490T helped fix that. Wonderful instrument. Have tried some SE's in stores at some point, and the frets were always what kept me from buying one earlier.

One thing though I will never be friends with quilt tops. It gives me this vibe of yachts with tacky interiors, like it wants diamond and gold on it.
But on this guitar it's just understated enough so it doesn't bother me. Too much..

Nice! The Akesson is a killer model. A very substantial guitar. Too bad that I don't care for playing single cuts, or I'd have one. And too bad it doesn't come pre-loaded with Frederik's chops! ;)

Awesome pick up...Enjoy.

I hadn't heard of Opeth until the year they played at the Experience...Loved 'em!!!
I Picked up a couple of their CD's...same as A7X...Love the newer stuff, where they sing, but the older groggle groggle stuff ain't for me.
BUT...Love the intricacy of all the music being played.

Smokin' guitar! And three volume knobs must make it really loud.:D

Nice, congrats! Always thought those were good specs with an ebony board.

Yeah its a great guitar. The second day I had I was wait a minute yes this guitar has it going on.
Was always a fan of Opeth, which is actually a reason to leave the guitar where it is. But it's cool. At least it doesn't have the logo on it.

And specs wise, I always found this to be the SE that made a lot sense. This as a doublecut would be cool (Holcomb is probably it though but I dont know).

It approaches my Gibson les paul, acoustically.
