Hey everyone! Added another SE to my stable this week; a Custom 24 Quilt Charcoal Sweetwater Exclusive. I've been playing my SE Standard 24-08 exclusively and decided it was time to add another of the 24's, this time the Custom 24. Thought it would be a nice compliment to the Standard, given the addition of the maple cap and the 85/15 pickups as opposed the TCI's in the Standard 24-08. I love the necks on these and I am convert to a 24 fret guitar, I find them to be SUPER comfortable.
Here are a few pictures. And PLEASE, tell me I'm crazy for obsessing over the VERY SLIGHTLY (I would consider) mismatch in the quilt top. I'd like to put my OCD brain to rest on this. I've seen these that have very uniform quilts, and while this one is still pretty well bookmatched, the bass side is a hair darker than the treble side. From different angles and with different lighting, of course it changes. I think its difference in tint is due to the grain being a little different on the bass side, where the treble side is pretty figured. Would just like to hear some other PRS/SE owners weigh in on this to ease my mind a little!
