NGD Santa loves Walnut!

To the op, what is the weight of that gorgeous guitar? Oh and when you guy’s are talking about walnut are you talking walnut or black walnut ( are they separate species)? Up here in the Northeast there are quite a few black walnut trees and I know furniture makers will pay a decent amount to harvest them.

Claro walnut is the most colorful of the juglans species. It is a cross pollination of black and English walnut, and grows in Oregon and California. Weight is controllable for guitars as the density is similar to mahogany.

I've used both , being a 5th generation San Franciscan I'm partial to Claro as it is a California variant , and the color and grain variations tend to be most striking . I even have a gunstock made from it I gave my then wife.
.38-55 throws a 255 grain soft point ... aim anywhere .. if you hit , your target is neutralized .

for those fellow wood obsessed folks

The Coil tap is not as single coil sounding as the 58/15LT's but offers a nice tonal pallete .

While I love the clarity of the LT's , the 57/08's remind me of the hot P90's in my '01 McSoapy for warmth . I'm super pleased , this guitar is the closest to what I've been searching for ... While not the most expensive PRS or other , this one has instantly become a favorite. at 6.8lbs it's easy on the back , and this is the first brazillian I've played ..I can understand the fuss. Reminds me of a perfect marriage of ebony and indian rosewood.

IF you have the chance to grab one of these , I'd suggest checking it out.
