Well, I wasn't looking to buy another, but I also couldn't wait. Now officially own three S2 guitars.
I ended up getting another deal on a satin charcoal standard 24 from the same store I got the white one from. She will get a set of uncovered \m/ pickups installed in her sometime this week.
The real suprise/ deal of the year so far, was purchasing a S2 Custom 24.
Last Wednesday I started surfing Google looking for S2 Custom 24's with matching tops. I came across a rather large legitimate online music store (no names will be mentioned) that was blowing out a S2 Custom 24 in Black Amber.
When I called to inquire about why the guitar was being sold at a such a low price. I was told that the guitar was either a 2021 or 2022 model and they were trying to move it to make way for new inventory. Hence why the guitar was being sold at a closeout price. The sales specialist also told me if I wanted to buy it, he would overnight the guitar to me for $20.
I decided to take the gamble and I'm glad I did b/c look at what showed up Friday morning...a new 2024 S2 Custom with the new U.S. electronics.
Now before anyone says anything. I called the store I got the guitar from, after I opened the bag and saw the wrong guitar in there.
I told them I think they sent me the wrong guitar. They told me thanks for making them aware of this and that they would look into it and get back to me.
This morning, they called me back while I was heading to work and told me that their had been a mix up on there end in the warehouse the guitar shipped from. They gave me two options:
1.) I could either return the guitar, and get a full refund, or get the actual guitar I was supposed to recieve.
2.) I could keep the guitar that was actually shipped to me. In doing so, I would not be allowed to return the guitar if something was to happen to it within the next 30 days.
The manufacturers warranty would still apply to the guitar.
They told me they were offering me this 2nd option b/c regardless of if I return it, they would have to relist it at a lower price since the guitar was already sold and the box had been opened.
I went with option two
With that being said, here are complimentary pics for everyone to see, along with a few gut shots of the new Custom 24.
