I'm still in the honeymoon phase but I must say that I am enamored with this guitar! The neck feels amazing. It's so smooth to the point that it feels thinner than the otger S2's I've played. I'm fairly certain an S2 24 Satin will be ordered too. If a Vela comes out in satin it's an automatic purchase.

Thanks to Brian at Brian's Guitars for yet another flawless transaction!

In other news, Anyone see the S2's at Daves guitar? He has a 'used' Satin Charcoal Mira Semi-hollow and a bunch of one off trial metallic colors on different S2's.

What are the pups like?
I saw one of these recently, had a feel (!) and it felt and looked amazing. Never had the time to play, though.
I reckon with a pup swap (required?) it'd be such an amazing guitar.

Congratulations - the satin finishes do feel really good - one almost feels dirty, as if the entire guitar is NAKED for you lol...

BTW you TOTALLY need to take off the little pickguard sticker - you know that puppy's not going back to Brian :)

AND...those PRS Sample Colors are AMAZING...if they would even put half of those into production I think they would sell a ton more S2s. We still seem to be stuck in a bit of a boring S2 color mode, even with Aztec Gold and Ice Blue Firemist added. These samples rock. Hope PRS is listening...

I whole-heartedly agree!! The Champagne -Gold Vela is classy!!

*** Oh, and congratulations on the Satin Guitar! Sweet!!

Aaaaggghhhhh!!!!! It's gone! Already!! And it's a one off!
(heavy sigh,,,)

I must admit. I purchased the champagne gold vela. Couldn't resist! My deal with wife/CFO is no guitar purchases for 3 years and stretch goal of 5. She didn't say I couldn't get our 21 month old son one... :). I will post pics once it arrives.

I took the coating off the pick guard last night. I am in love!

I actually really dig the S2 #7's. My favorite place is the middle position with the neck on 8 or 9 and add the bridge to taste. When you want pure rock you can flip it to the bridge. I find the middle position to also be my favorite place to experiment with the coil splits.

You should definitely try one! I had the S2 Singlecut Semi-hollow, also purchased from Brian's Guitars, and liked the #7's then too.

Congrats on your new guitar (as well as what looks like the P22 to the right of your new guitar):top:

Thanks! It is a P22. That's my wife's favorite. I got it at the 2013 PRS Experience from, you guessed it, Brian's guitars. He's great to work with and as evident on this forum gets some great PRSi!

Dude, if someone else had to get it, I'm glad I was you!! Double nice score!! Between the Jade (my favorite finish) P22, the totally rockin' satin SC, an that sweet, classy champagne Vela, you have a masterful collection!! Play 'em loud and proud!!

I've been checking out the Satin Singlecuts today as a matter of fact, on Sweetwater. I like the mahogany finish, although I have that already in my S2 Standard 22, and I like the charcoal one too. Thinking hard about this, was close to getting another LP from Gibson/Epiphone, but might end up going the PRS route, again. I would likely change the pickups though, only because I have them in my other standard. Need a little diversity.

Looks great but I tried one in a shop today.... satin necks are GREAT but like Suhr satin models, I find the body is way too slippy and my arm goes all over the place so unfortunately not for me. HNGD though! :)

...don't hold the guitar with your arm.... that's what straps are for.... ;)
