I don't usually post NGD threads but since this is rather new to the market, I figure I'd share. I got my hands on an S2 594 thinline about a month ago and while I was impressed, the wide thin neck was not my favorite. I was able to find this one at World Music.
Most s2 guitars that I have seen are solid or darker transparent colors and I was wondering how the maple top would look on it. It looked like a total plaintop from the pictures, but it does have a tight flame pattern underneath there. Very light and resonant and a great value.
My luthier did have a concern as the action was a bit high when I bought it. The bridge is basically bottomed out in order to get the action low. Should I be concerned? It works fine now, but he said it would be better if there was room for lower adjustment if ever needed.
Anyhow here are pics
