My S2 594 singlecut is one of my favorite guitars... and I swear I've been noticing that as far as s2s go it seems like the 594s get the best wood. My quilty twin of yours in my avatar.

What type of BKs did you put in? I've got an SD scourge going into the bridge of mine that should be some chug city fun

I agree; it does seem the S2 tops are improving. I couldn't get into the topped models because the figure was as assymetrical as the carve. Most look like they've been "bubba'd".

For the longest time the SE tops were better than S2. I am of the thought process that s2 should have same as CE quality

I know this is an S2… but dammit does it play better than my core semihollow. I actually don’t think it’s a competition. Tone wise it has more bite. The exact same pickups in the core sound more sterile. This has Better sustain. Maybe it’s the ebony combo. But this s2 is the keeper for me. No doubt about it. The core will likely go back on the market.

I am very shocked. But that’s a testament to the s2 594 line.
