I swear the tops on S2's have improved. I was offered a great deal at CME on a new quilt 594 in the s2 range. I took the plunge. It'll replace a more expensive PRS guitar that I liked but sound similar.
Gaboon Ebony Board (on modcat info)
quilted emerald green smoke burst with a black back
light weight at 7.2 lbs
I changed it quite a bit. It was originally with ivory appointments - I swapped to black, including BK pickups that are black and phase 3 tuners with ebony buttons.
Such a killer guitar using spare parts I already had. Nothing was ordered!
Enjoy! I know I will!
I swear it doesn't look properly intonated but it sure is.

HNS2594D!
I totally agree about the S2 tops improving. Yours is a perfect example.
The figuring goes in every direction! Congrats.

Awesome looking guitar! Congrats!! I was viewing the S2 offerings at CME just the other day and saw a S2 594 with a one piece top!! I agree, they seem to be getting a bump up on the quality of the tops lately!!! As for blacking out the hardware, I am with you 100%, I want to do that to all of my guitars (except maybe my Strat, it is all natural wood colors). I spent ~$500 to black out my EBMM Stingray bass a couple years ago and it looks killer!!!

Nice

That's such a nice guitar man. After my first S2 I was sold on them and they only seem to be getting better and better. For the price you scarcely see domestic made 1 piece body axes with PRS level consistency. Even new, I think they're worth every penny. Nice touch with the BK pups, that baby probably screams.

Gorgeous!

Swapping out the cream rings for black was the first thing I did for my S2 McC SC.

Which BK pickups did you use? Bet they're great.
They have peacemaker set in. It’s a hot PAF type. I think they work great for the 594 line. I installed new electronics and added a treble bleed for the neck pickup. Sounds great to me. I did use caps that BK recommended in their diagrams.
