I originally went out, to check out a MusicMan JP6.
But was more impressed by an EBMM LIII, in Neptune Blue.
Then I spotted this PRS Singlecut.
It's beautifully quilted, dark cherry top, with sort of, matching headstock and quilted maplebinding, looked stunning.
The "wide fat" neck is very comfy.
Not feeling particularly fat or wide, just very nice in the hand and easy to play.
The pickups are, to my ears, loud and very clear.
I've heard of single coil pickups having an ice pick sound.
The treble #6 pickup, on this beauty, has the most ice pick like HB, I have heard.
The #6 pickups, with zebra bobbins, work really well, clean.
Lots of tone and definition.
With overdrive, I needed to adjust my pedal's tone controls, to deal with so much extra cut.
Again, the extra definition, let's more complex chords work, with that heavy overdrive.
The last time I went out to get a PRS Singlecut, I came home, with a Custom 24.
This time I got one and am very pleased.
It's LP style and brilliant trem system, just work.
It's in amazing condition, for a 12 year old guitar, too.
I guess it didn't get out much.
