Had this for a couple months but finally put the finishing cosmetic and functional upgrades. I loved the metallic royal blood Smokeburst! It’s nice without being flame maple flashy. The black neck further drew me in. The pickups sounded incredible. The whole TCI process did the 85/15 very well! In terms of mods:
-I darkened the fretboard
-Phase 3 locking tuners with the new winged buttons
-Gen 2 vibrato block with a Gotoh tremolo arm.
-I installed black pickup rings, used aluminum black on the nickel colored brass tremolo screws, and changed the toggle ring to black as well.
I’m quite pleased. Tuning stability is rock solid now. I installed an extra tremolo spring to enhance the stability a tad more while keeping the bridge floating.
The s2 tuners were ok. But nothing holds tune better than the gotoh phase iii!
