Oh God, the guitar bug is back.
After the 25th Anniversary Custom 24 I secured recently, I fell off the wagon again.
Of course this guitar is rather worth falling off the wagon for. I was always on the look-out for a PRS Hollowbody II Spruce that I could be assured on the condition off , either locally or with someone I trust. That opportunity arose when Ishibashi Tokyo (one of my most trusted dealers and I have a great contact Gohno san there as well) got exactly this. It was missing a case and had a few blemishes, but I knew that Ishibashi would always be more conservative and I was fine with the stated condition . There is a thing with guitars I procure in Japan. Even if they are imperfect, they are rather well maintained.
Initial impressions are good. Great balance. Very loud acoustically. And most importantly, sounds nothing like my 594 Hollowbody II or Archtop. A much softer attack, I particularly like how it softens the typical harshness of an unprocessed piezo. It's not a very present guitar but it sounds really good for instrumental or even vocal accompaniment applications so far.
Pictures below. And of course a Youtube video, since I am closing in on 40K subscribers. Thanks all those who watch from here. The channel really began from the PRS forum
