NGD - PRS DC 594

[BC 594]

Hey there. I’ve played guitar for many years and have always favoured the more traditional brands (Gibson & Fender), not sure why but perhaps stupidly I always associate them with most popular bands.. although I’ve played a few PRS I’ve always swayed away as I’ve almost found them too perfect…. Anyhow, over the weekend I stumbled on what seemed a great deal for a 2020 PRS McCarty 594 so after a weekend of research went to pull the trigger today.. it is a lovely tobacco sunburst, not a flashy top but some really nice grain pattern etc.

Long story short, got it home and plugged it into the Tone King and wow.. what an array of sounds and the playability is fantastic. Humbucker sound great, and the coil splits are really nice too. Clearly still in the honeymoon phase, but I am reflecting and thinking why I’ve not done this before. Such a versatile guitar, and very easy / comfortable to play. It has a great mix of power and clarity.

Tested it versus my 335 and tonally it is of course very different, but adds new tones to my arsenal and without a doubt even in the first few hours is making me play differently.

Any other lovers of the 594 out there, must admit I seem to have become a PRS convert in the last 24 hours. I’ll post some pics in the next minutes, but saying hi to the forum !

Congrats and welcome. I bought a 594 a couple months ago (in my avatar) and still amazed at the tones it can produce. I was a bit unsure about the chunkier neck before the purchase but now prefer it over the neck on my CE. A pleasure to play. If I get a third guitar down the road I would seriously consider a used 594 semi-hollow.

I actually have one of those from the original run; it’s kinda fun with a Bareknuckle Mule in it.
I also have a 594, and it of course, is just amazing..
