Last weekend I found an excuse to buy another PRS :D this is an early 30th birthday present. 2004 McCarty P90 with rosewood neck. It is very clean for a 13 year old guitar only a few dents. The colour is Ruby, I have swapped the knobs out for lampshades since I had two in my drawer. Thinking about adding some nickel pickup covers I have aged (last photo) amazing what vinegar can do. They are german silver not just plated plastic so I know the sound will change a little. But they look great IMO. This thing rings like a bell the rosewood neck is so smooth and a pleasure to play with. Its not a 10 top but in the right light it looks great. 7 of 9 means I have owned 9 but only have 7 now.

Wow! That's a stunner for sure! Although I'm partial to those cream covers...

The P90 PRS guitars may be one of the best "underdog" guitars of their line... they aren't popular, but I don't hear many (or any) people say they dislike them.
Ye it was at a toss up between this and a custom 22 with 3 P90's, same price but the rosewood neck won. Its nice to have a P90 guitar even though my Mirs and SCT have HB-P90's in the bridge.

Gorgeous guitar, with killer tone/feel. I had one exactly like it in Vintage Amber Burst around the same time.

The aged covers don’t look to me like they belong on the guitar, but heck, it’s yours, and it’s a reversible mod, so go for it!

Yep me too, the cream and ruby red look really nice together.

But hey as Les said it’s your guitar and we all love what we love.

Watched an interesting vid on YouTube by a guy who owns Big D guitars. He aged hardware using a small container of acid in an airtight box, with the hardware in it. It’s amazing how just the fumes aged the covers and tuners so well.

Have fun with your lovely guitar.

I was trying to achieve the brushed nickel look but buggered it up so aged them. Hmm how about these, found on crazyparts. I'm liking the indian rosewood covers but would need to request pics to try and match them.

I think the maple and the ruby red pale would look cool.

The Rosewood are a favourite of mine too.

I just love wood :confused::eek:
