The 509 model has been on my hit list for a while and decided to pull the trigger and I am glad I did. The 509 has 5 pickups and 9 configurations which makes it a very versatile guitar. It feels very different from other PRS models mostly due to the scale length which is 25.25", in between a standard PRS and a Strat and also the satin finish on the back of the neck which feels great. The 509 leans heavily towards a Strat but also gets decent humbucking tones. The cleanish tones are excellent and although I live mostly on the neck and bridge pickups, the in between positions on the 509 are very strong. The guitar weighs 8lbs, well balanced, stays in tune. The 2020 models have a nitro finish (I haven't tried the previous year models so can't compare). The color is Orange Tiger and my lovely wife said its more like sh*t brown (!).

I was expecting something good but this is a "above expectations" guitar for me.

I did this clip layering tracks and levels of overdrive and switching pickup combinations (mostly single coil).

If sh!t looked like that, then looking sh!itty would be a compliment! Great guitar, and great looking to boot. As a longtime 513 player, I can tell you that the pickup versatility is a real merit of the 513/509 guitars. Congrats!

Congrats! Nice introduction with a great photo and sound clip!

Beautiful! A 2018 509 showed up at my door today. The color is nowhere near as nice as yours, but I just about stole the damn thing on eBay. It’s filthy and has rusty strings on it, neglected but not abused. Hope it sounds as good as yours.
