Got a new 594 today!

"This time around" with the 594s (after my crazy 2016 and 2017 with the 594s, and then the 2 year hiatus with just the one) I have a new strategy - to build a collection of complementary and different 594s, across the broader lineup that is now available. Thus the SC 594 Prototype from 2016 (solid body), the SC 594 Semi-Hollow from last week, and now the DC 594 Hollowbody II today. (And as you might imagine - I still have a few options left... ;))

Wow! This thing is amazing. Tone is really terrific. Exceeded expectations by a long shot! I haven't owned a PRS Hollowbody for almost ten years.

The 594 scale and the 5815 LT pickups match really well to the Hollowbody construction of this guitar. It is so "alive", just awesome.

Tone is most important to me, but when ponying up for PS money, the looks are important too. This is one of the most beautiful Private Stocks I have ever played. McCarty Glow is one of my favorite finishes, and this one is extremely well done. Killer top (and back). Love the dark board with the Gold MOP Birds!

More reports and comparisons to follow.

Did I mention that I was back? :)

Damn, Pete! That looks fantastic!!!!! One of these is on my radar to snag at Experience this year.

Yep, you're back. Both feet fully in!

I read: NGD: ... Hollowbody II ... in McCarty WoW

... and it was. It is WOW and beyond. A masterpiece. Congratulations!

Thanks, everyone!

Great looking guitar Pete. I am curious to know the weight of a Hollowbody (my semi-hollow is fairly light under 7lbs).

Alex - These are INSANELY light. Usually just under 6 pounds from what I have seen on this during my search for one. This one is 5 pounds, 11.6 ounces. Crazy light!

I have found that the DC 594 SH's are usually a little under 7 pounds, as your new one is, and the SH SC 594s are usually a little under 8 pounds, as my 2 were. (My new one is 7 pounds, 15.2 ounces.)

Congrats Pete, that’s killer!

Now you need a SC594 Trem! :)

I was going to spec one for my build, but ultimately decided I wanted the piezo so it became a P245 Trem instead.

Thanks everyone, for the kind comments!

That is a GREAT idea! That wasn't on my list, but it is now! ;)

I had what might have been the very first DC 594 Trem back in 2016. It was amazing, and is on my long "I regret selling that one" list!

Something about the resonance of the Trem made the feel and tone very awesome! (As Trems on a very good PRS Guitar often do...)

Like, totally awesome man!
Let me ask you about the balance of the hb. I love the 594. The sustain and tone are both fantastically great.
I’ve only played the 594 in stores and without straps and have found the balance to be awkward for me. That is: lots of moving it around trying to get it to feel right. How would you compare the balance on the models you have. ?
Thanks
