NGD: McCarty goodness

Years ago I played a McCarty double cut artist at Guitar Center. To this day, it was the nicest guitar I've ever played...and I've played a lot.
At the time I didnt' ahve the 2500 they were asking for it. Boy was I stupid.

Anyway, fast forward to a few weeks ago and I picked up an SE McCarty double cut. Not quite the same, but it's a great guitar.

This past week I decided to get an S2 2024 with USA electornics McCarty singlecut.
WOW! This feels and plays and sounds as much like the artist than I could possibly imagine!

Now the questions is whether I trade off my SE for a silver sky Se or something different. The SE McCarty has a thicker neck, has hotter pickups, and plays and sounds great. But if I want a McCarty, I'm grabbing the S2!

Also, I think the SE has a thicker maple cap than the S2.

Yes, of course.

No reason to hang onto something you already know you're not going to play much. Sell the SE and buy something you'll use.

Hell, I don't always even hang onto things I play and love!

24.5xx" singlecuts are the only PRS I get. My '22 S2 McCarty is extremely close to my Cores, except for the import pickups which is not a factor in your case. But like in your situation, what is best gets played the most which is why my S2 has been on loan to a friend since February where it's getting used way more.

Try playing only the S2 and not the SE for a while and see if that's OK. If so, time to move on from the SE. Lots of other great options out there.
