NGD - McCarty 594

It took me almost three years of fence sitting to finally pull the trigger. I just couldn't resist that top in that color.

Got it home and plugged it into my TC-50. Sounds great. The crunch channel, which I originally didn't like very much, really sounded good with this guitar. I ended up reducing the bass and bumping up the mids quite a bit from my normal setting since this guitar seems to be quite a bit "darker" sounding than my other guitars.

Staring at it, which I spent a fair amount of time doing, I couldn't help but think that some brass tuner knobs would probably really look nice and continue the theme of brass accents from the bridge. Or maybe brass washers/ferrules on the tuning pegs.

PRS is getting really good with pickups. I also like the move to lower output. So much more character.

Good lord that's a gorgeous top! Congrats! The 594 is such a killer guitar. I'm not crazy about the neck, but the thing sounds incredible.
