LOVE that top!So she arrived yesterday, and as all of us know, waiting for the delivery is painful, but she arrived in one piece. Waiting for the guitar to warm up was also painful, but opening that sweet paisley case for the first time....as George Takei so famously said, oh my! More pictures to follow when I've taken some more, and manage to put the guitar down.
Wood Library with a 10 top in River Blue, natural back, ebony board.
This is your first PRS?!?!……talk about starting at the top! King of the hill indeed…Enjoy this work of art. It is truly a special instrument. Congrats!!Thanks all!
It really was a lucky moment happening across her. Admittedly I wad looking at another Les Paul, but they all came with pick guards (not a fan), and the variety of options gave me option paralysis. I was scrolling through Facebook one day and an advert for a dealer popped up, and this was there, with a natural finish 594 running a swamp ash body. I was mesmerised, and started looking at the PRS options.
It ended up being a choice between the one I got, and a black gold/black wrap. I'm a suckered for that reveal binding, and the top is just insane on this one.
She rings like a bell, sustains for days and has a voice of her own, similar to, but different to an LP. It's refined, clear as a summers day, yet gets down and dirty when needed. The pups really are brilliant, and she's so comfortable to play as well. I'll be experimenting with string gauges on her soon, as the stock 10s feel quite different to my usual 10-52 set from Ernie Ball....in as much as they feel really taught, a surprise given the shorter scale length.
Loving my first few days as a PRS owner for sure!
I've had someone say it can turn green, definitely seen blues go green on old Fenders too, so will look to protect it where I can.Totally gorgeous! Congratulations.
As you may have heard, the blue and purple finishes are prone to fading.
I'd keep her in the case and name her Elvira, Mistress of the Dark.
She only comes out at night!
=K
So awesome looking. The slope is slippery. Very slippery and PRS like to multiply like rabbits. Keep an eye on your wallet, or succumb to the desire! So it's been a few weeks since this fantastic guitar arrived in my life, and I can honestly say I am in love with it completely. The neck fits like a glove, the tone is phenomenal from clean all the way through to dirty. She looks the part, feels the part, sounds the part.
I've heard people say in the past that a guitar becomes an extension of themselves, but never really understood it until now. I freely admit when I bought her, I was hunting for a Les Paul, but this one caught my eye from the corner of the room, and had me hooked. Visually at first, then I got to know her, and boom. Smitten.
I now feel a burning desire for more PRS guitars, what have I started?
A few more cheeky photos I took:
