MA Pete
Pattern Thin Convert!
Well, you can also see it over on the McCarty 594 Love Thread, but this guitar is cool enough that I thought I should give it its own NGD thread.
February Guitar of the Month with the 20th Anniversary of Private Stock GOM series this year, 1 of 26 that will be made.
Nice case just for this GOM run, "British Fawn", like they did on some of the special Amp runs:
The reveal - SWEET!!
It is a beautiful guitar. The finish is incredibly well done, "Vintage McCarty Burst" - it is darker than the Faded McCarty Burst from the MSC run, I discussed that with Paul Miles earlier this week while at the Private Stock Vault. IMO it looks much better in person, the flame and finish is "bolder" in real life than it looks in these pics, actually best captured in the first two below here:
I am very picky with my PS selections, I am insistent upon Old Birds with Outlines, and Maple Binding on the neck that covers all 3 sides of the Board, not just two. To my great pleasure, this one has both, so it can be a long-term keeper! Birds are MOP with Paua outlines, coincidentally identical to my Jade Glow DC 245 and just as beautiful.
The binding has yellow "toner" (as Paul Miles calls it) just like the MSC's, which helps a lot to give it that vintage vibe:
Has a banner on the Headstock highlighting it is the February GOM, which is cool! And says 1 of 26 on the back. (This is not #1, they all say 1 of 26...)
Awesome guitar! I am very happy with it.
For more ongoing reports on this one (tone reports, etc.), and others from the run as they arrive with their new owners, please follow my thread "The Official McCarty 594 Love Thread"! Also covered over there is my journey with short-scale PRSi from the Ted McCarty run in 2009 to present, it has been a fun ride!
