Just like every other PRS guitars I own, this one was ordered on a whim or nearly so.
I had a LP style guitar with humbuckers in mind for quite some time. Since I sold a Larrivée RS-4 in fact (lovely guitar, great Lollar pickups but kinda wrong looking and 25,5" scale length so not LP like enough).
I looked for a few weeks (honestly maybe just days...) for a McCarty 594 that I would like and didn't find any with usual PRS woods that I really fancied. I didn't want to spend 10 top/ WL or PS money so I figured a plain color would be great. I looked up to my guitar wall and realized I quite like gold guitars so the color was chosen.
Then there was a tuning pegs choice to be made (I don't like the look of the 2024 version) as well as pickups (58/15 LT vs 58/15 LT+). I decided for 58/15LT and vintage style tuners.
The only remaining spec to fine tune was the weight. I have a strict hard limit on just around 8 Lbs / 3,6 kg so the hunt for one in stock somewhere in Europe was on.
I found a few, some dealers not willing to weight their guitars so hard pass on those and some being really more expensive than others for the exact same guitar. I settled on a German dealer I never hear of before as their went above and beyond to answer all my questions.
I just received the guitar, unboxed it and as usual with PRS, I am very happy with my choice. Very very nice guitar.
Oh and I really like the brushed pickup covers !

As my text is worthless without pics, here they are

Unplugged, this guitar just rings like a bell, incredible. This SC 594 is something else, and that sustain, wow ! Call me impressed.
Honeymoon period, I know I know but still. So resonant and so nice feeling to play.

Sad thing is we are leaving with the wife for a week-end at the in-laws and I won't touch her (the guitar...) until late tomorrow night.
:(

Nice!

I had a GT LP some years ago, my first high end gtr. I have a soft spot for them because of that. I just looked at one this am but I find for a solid color guitar they are almost as pricey. I feel that they should cost a lot less that a WL or such
