Happened to walk into the Orlando GC and this was there. $2400! There was a dude there who bought 2 PRS guitars (including a private stock) that day and was eyeing 2 more. This was one he was considering and I snatched it before he did. I was so anxious to not let him have it that I didn't even bother to play it. Just said I'll take it and brought it home. I've never been a vintagy guitar guy. My other axes have trems and high output pickups. I've been playing it all night and quite a bit this AM. I'm sold on the 50 series pickups. I thought they were gimmicky and very weak for a lot of styles but when I paired it up with my Marshall JVM and really had a chance to dial it in, I found I was able to get just about anything I wanted to out of these pickups with some amazing clarity. These covered 57/08s have the best tapped sounds, period. What a great piece to add to the arsenal. Now, I'm considering sending my S2 in for the 57/08s as well.
