NGD Korina Content!

You mean disconnect them now until I get the set up sorted?

I’ll look it over much closer when I can. I may disassemble, look long and hard at the trem plate holes and the screws. Worse case is I give John Mann a call for help and parts. I’m hoping all is good, I think this was bought by a collector, stored, and sold to a bass player. Then to me. I hope no one did dumb stuff to it…

Dibs. I’m hoping I bond with this one and it stays until I can’t play anymore, it’s really a beauty to me.
The SOP is to disconnect the springs while raising or lowering the bridge (with the strings loosened, of course). I wouldn’t bother to disassemble unless absolutely necessary. I’m going to put my core SAS up for sale and look for a guitar like yours. I have another SAS.

I wasn't looking for this, but the Korina got me. I don't know how prevalent they are in the market, but clearly they are available. I can't wait to get it set up to play. I'm curious about the P90's. I'm pretty sure I'll like them.

I believe they made a very limited number of them. I have a KL 1812 I bought from Melisa Hansen ( Moggy Mel on the PRS forum.) . It’s unbelievable. 24 frets, a stoptail, nd it vibrates like the back end of a Doberman at walk time. I need a korina triple soapie like a hole in the had, but I bet it kills.

Is the 1812 basically a Korina Mira? If so, I’d trade in my Santana III for that. I really would like a stop tail Santana shaped guitar. Korina would be icing on the cake. That and a KL 380 would be perfect twins.

There’s been some pricing discussions in recent threads and especially Korina based threads.

I’m really curious what the consensus is on pricing for this KL380. It is very good to excellent condition, given that it’s an ‘09. There is the slight blemish on the neck and 3 or 4 small dinks on the body edges. I didn’t even notice the latter until the 3rd or 4th time I handed the guitar. Every thing works, it really needs a set up and a fret polish.

I don’t see much pricing info for the KL 380 with 3x P90’s. Is the KL 380 with 3x P90’s a lower priced / less desirable / less known guitar as compared to the KL 33? I see pricing for KL 33’s recently at over $3K. I paid about half that for the KL 380. I’m happy with what I got for that price so no buyer’s remorse regardless. Did I get a smokin’ deal, pay the going rate or make an excessive contribution to an older bass player’s living expenses?

I finally had a few minutes to pull the trem cover. I have the trem in a decent spot now. I think the previous owner just slapped a set of 9.5’s in place of 10’s and didn’t adjust the claw screws. Still needs a cleaning and set up though.

Question to all - see below for trem screws and P90 screws. Especially the P90 screws that touch the springs. Clearly too long. They look original as compared to the other two pickups from the top. I plan to snip or dremel them down just a bit. Any concerns? Any comments?

I Wouldn't Worry About It Unless They Are Touching. I Also See No Issue In "Engineering" Them A Bit To Clean Things Up (Which Is What I Would Do) As I Am Incredibly Particular About Things. You Got An Incredible Deal On That Guitar By The Way!

$1600. I was super excited to find it. It was local CL. My personal limit is under $2K for a thing, guitar, cab, amp, whatever. If I ever find a 24.5-ish” scale hollow body with a fixed bridge, PRS (coughmccartyhbiicough) or other, and I like it as much as I think I will, I might break that rule.

I Need To Go Trolling CL For Deals Again I See. ;)

I kind of scored some great deals from our dutch "craigslist" as well, but none of them as good as yours. My McSoapy korina (black) was about the same in euros. My craziest was a Smokeburst McC (nitro) for a little less.

But those are not as unicorny as yours!

That's a smokin deal
