The SOP is to disconnect the springs while raising or lowering the bridge (with the strings loosened, of course). I wouldn’t bother to disassemble unless absolutely necessary. I’m going to put my core SAS up for sale and look for a guitar like yours. I have another SAS.You mean disconnect them now until I get the set up sorted?
I’ll look it over much closer when I can. I may disassemble, look long and hard at the trem plate holes and the screws. Worse case is I give John Mann a call for help and parts. I’m hoping all is good, I think this was bought by a collector, stored, and sold to a bass player. Then to me. I hope no one did dumb stuff to it…
