Whooooooooooooooooop!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This thing screams!!! Loving the Swamp Ash version a LOT more than the mahogany!!!
It looks way better than the stock pics in person, too!!!

Looks, plays and sounds better than any pics!!! I'm in love with this puppy!!!!!! Really didn't bond with the mahogany MEV...
Maybe the pickups had an issue, or they've tweaked them for 2022 plus the Swamp Ash body!!! Never had Swamp Ash
make THAT much of a difference before. Doesn't matter now, because I have my true love!!!

Congrats & glad you like it. Mine came last week & and I really like the single coil tones! The guitar is a keeper for me and it sounds like it is for you. - We should start a Modern Eagle V club
 
Aside from the glorious appearance of this particular guitar, can you describe the sonic difference between mahogany and swamp ash?

Also, why do we suppose the middle layer of the scoop has been emblackened, rather than left natural?

Also also too, why does the Modern Eagle not appear on the website or in price lists? Is it secret?

1. Like another user noted in my other thread, the SA is a little more warmed up/prominent in the mids. My description is, this one is like having my 408 Private Stock Experience PRS 2012 with Strat position tones added for days. If ever there was a Swiss Army Knife that is good at most everything it does, then this is it for me at least!!! Not like I'll say goodbye to my Swamp Ash Artis WL 509 or anything... They're different, and the MEV has TONS more than 9 tones...

2. No idea why the inner horn scoop down low is darkened and the upper horn inside is natural maple. It actually looks kinda cool in person.
It won't be if you're a stickler for complete symmetry. LoL!

If you're froggy and can swing it, I highly recommend it. I did not bond as well with my mahogany MEV, but there may have been some problems with the electronics. It was more bright and shrill sounding compared to this guitar. So look for my other NGD thread with the long title and one of the others described the difference for his SA and Hog MEV's.
