NGD - It's been far too long since anyone has posted a new NF-53 in White Doghair!

Congrats on the guitar! I’ll be interested to hear your thoughts on how it sounds / plays compared to your other guitars. I’m really liking my NF53. It’s my 2nd PRS guitar with narrow field pickups. My other is a Studio.

Oh mann that is beautiful. I am starting to think that one of these in that finish is going to be my next guitar. The white is just magnificent

Thoughts on the guitar otherwise?

Congrats!!!
The neck is not as cozy as the Santana, but it's delightlfully chonk and very comfortable to play.

It's wonderfully balanced and comfortable, unlike many Telecasters I've tried.

Thinking about taking off hte pickguard and seeing how I feel about that look.

Naturally still in the honeymoon phase, we'll see if I still like it as much as the Silver Sky in a few months.

It's definitely a new sound, which is awesome. Thicker than the Silver Sky and thinner than any of my others, including the p90 McCarty and the 57/08 Custom 22.

I used to be a Wizard Neck player, then Wide Thin, then Wide Thick, and this one, is even more chonk, but it's great for digging into notes.

I chose the lightest one I could find, and I think it makes it more acoustic, which is nice cause I often play unplugged.

I have 0 complaints so far.

Sick. I looked at these a couple of times. But I had gotten a custom built red cedar tele from a man named Tim Weber who is local around here. It was almost what I would have specked out had I asked him to build it. Played it for a while and realized that the "vintage" carve on the neck just wasn't my favorite. So, I talked to him about it and he told me to bring it back and he would replace the neck. I had him put a roasted maple neck on it that felt more like a prs Wide Fat carve (not exactly, but much closer than the other neck). Now it is basically as if I had had him build it from scratch for me. Even though it was already built when I purchased it.

That is a nice pickup by the way.
A red-cedar guitar sounds amazing!

Smokin! I checked out one of these in person the other week. They look great. For whatever reason I wasn't expecting gloss finish. Probably from looking at the satin Vela in white, sorta dog hairsh. Good to see your pics showing the gloss.

Of the three white doghair NF53s on the Ish site, I think you chose the one with the best grain pattern. Not too wide, not too tight.

I had never really liked Telecasters, they just never did it for me,

Like you I was never a fan, but that piece is a real looker in that finish.
I also notice some body carves front & back that have to be a great improvement over the original slab concept, which has always been the dealbreaker for me on Tele's.

Enjoy, and all we need now is a sound clip.;)

Great pictures! And I learned something about these because of your pics! The S style arm contour, for some reason I missed this when viewing this model. Also my fav color for this model. Congrats.
Thanks!

You can tell they really obsessed over how to do a new take on the form without making something outlandish, or a total copy. It's like the exact right combination of fresh and classy with a nod to tradition.

Yeah, the Tele-slab is like ... "Do I really want a paddle with some strings on it?"

What kindof a sound sample are you looking for, I'm normally a hard-rock player, so not sure I could produce anything genre-appropriate for this at the moment that anyone would want to listen to. 😅
