Hi guys,

Its been almost 8 years since my last PRS and i've finally decided to buy one ( as mentioned in the title)10top in Mccarty sunburst; advertised as such but am currently waiting for verification from PRS support.

Prior to this beauty, i've owned:
1) 90s Cu22 non10, moons

2) early 00s Ce22 Non 10

3) late 00s Singlecut Trem, 10top

4) "pre-lawsuit singlecut", 10 top
5) Singlecut 254, 10 top

6) Mccarty Korina with BR (so much regrets selling this)

Funny story with this little guy, while the 85/15s on the 35th Cu24 come with adjustable gold screws facing towards the bridge on both the neck and bridge pickup, this came with a reversed neck pickup. Did any other 35th Cu24 owners encounter similar "defects"? P.S: this was purchased brand new and still had the factory seal on the neck.

I'm sorry having trouble with the image upload, wondering if it's because this is a fresh account

Hey hpg8, I am not sure how many posts you need before you can post pix, but I thought it was 4 (which you have so it may be more than that). That said, there are 5 threads that I am aware of regarding the topic of posting pix (once allowed to do so). Various methods and hosting services are covered. You can find links to all of them at this post: https://forums.prsguitars.com/threads/sharing-pictures-on-prs-forum.47818/

Happy to help out if you still can't get it to work. PM me!

Congrats on the new guitar! Looking forward to the pix!!

Thank you Wily for the welcome and tip, long ago on forums i used to use photobucket. However with the changes with space and watermark, i've decided to not go with them. Currently trying to use IMGUR

I can see the photos when I right click then and say open in a new tab. Beautiful guitar. Certainly looks like McCarty Sunburst to me. I've seen 35th Anniversary and Custom 24-08 guitars with the neck pickup oriented both ways.

Nice ones!

PRS has been dabbling in reversing the neck pickup on some guitars, especially those that have the mini toggle switches. Has something to do with the sound, can’t remember exactly what. It has been a little hit or miss though, as the spec seems to change occasionally and without much explanation. For example, the Special Semi Hollow had the reversed pickup on the original limited run, then they were going to do regular orientation when it was announced as a regular model, then I think it got changed back to reversed again. It even shows guitars with both orientations on the current SSH product page.

You could always just turn yours around if you want to try it, I don’t think they’re doing any other special magic specific to the reversed pickups.

Hey andy! thanks for the kind words and information.

I've decided to keep them as is for pure aesthetic purposes, was only wondering why this particular piece had the reversed pickups as the shop i bought them from had a batch of more than 30 35th annivs but only 1 or 2 had such a configuration. Then again, among the batch were some 10tops without hybrid hardware too. Gets kinda confusing

Thank you good sir! Tbh i'm not truly sure if its a mccarty sunburst but its advertised as such. I did have much fun regardless!

Now I can see it. Amazing top, great looking guitar.

Regarding neck pickup - I have seen them both ways really, most common with screw coil towards bridge like in mine. Some dealer photos showing them like in your guitar. I have asked PRS customer support about it and I was told that Paul like it better that way. Not sure which way, tho ;)

I have flipped mine during one string change and heard no major difference

Here picture of mine. Next to yours he looks like the ugly cousin :D

Hi Simon! Thanks for the feedback, and please don't say that. The color on your 35th is amazing! I prefer the yellow-er ones and i was actually contemplating between 2 of these:

I ultimately went with the darker one because of the top, though i can't stop thinking about the yellow

Aw I absolutely love my guitar ;) top of mine is quite dirty with lots of mineral streaks. That was one of the reason why I took it home over other 35th's. I like "flows" and "inperfections", they add character
