2011 DC 22
I've toyed with the idea of getting one of these for a while but since i have a Ted DC245 I always talked myself out of it. Then Musicians Friend began liquidating and, well, i just had to. I'm quite stoked that I did!
It has an interesting, compact feel to it, that ironically differs a tad from my '13 Santana. The stoptail also reinforces that it's not a regular Santana, and it plays like a double-cut and lighter LP. Adapting to the Markie Mod control layout is surprisingly not as difficult as I had feared.
Sonically, it has plenty of resonance, and the 59/09's provide plenty of flavor, including stupendous single coil bridge sounds without me having to dig in hard to quack, so much so that i didn't switch guitars once this week with the band. It has more mids and highs than my Ted despite them both having the same pickups.
As for looks, well, grains running both ways: gotta love it!
