Well ..being retired I spend a bit of time on you tube and enjoy the vids from Norman's Rare, so they notify me I've won a prize ! I text , they verify everything , I'll in theory pay shipping. They wanted feedback on the channel , I made a few suggestions like having artist play guitars from the year they were born, they liked that. I ask ... so What did I win ? the reply " A blonde 1974 Telecaster , it's an electric guitar" ...amen to that ... so I check the site ... they only have one meeting that description .. if this is real , it's in great shape and isn't cheap .. WOW . .. fingers crossed. I'm verifying with the shop when they open to make sure it's real ...

Well if this turns out to be legit, ever so many congratulations! My dream car is a Corvette that came off the factory floor on the day I was born, so I totally get the thing about playing a guitar from their birth year!! Great suggestion and your reward from the recipient appears to be light years beyond my compliment!!!

Is this legit? I watch their YT channel a bit but I've never seen them give away a guitar. I hope it's true and I'm just a skeptical a-hole but I'd be careful if they ask you for a CC to pay for shipping. You mentioned you verified it, have you spoken to them over the phone?

Only text , but am calling the shop on friday , we had a nice text chat .. so one way or the other it was an interesting experience. They know I'm calling before any transaction happens , if something is up I can give them the details so they can persue legal action

Oh NOW it get's interesting, So while checking out the site , I of course look for what he has in PRS land ... Low and behold ...and listed for much less than the Tele( 2K) .. would he consider this instead .. He said sure ..he's had it on reverb for a year ..3 offers. win win while I could sell the Tele for more , I would rather just have this, better for everyone. I don't have a single cut , (just a "79 LP Custom which was my first electric..got it new then!)

Anyone know which pickups these had?

2007 PRS Singlecut Amber Flamed Maple Brazilian Board

That looks like a SC250 AP to me.
So SC250 pickups - if stock.

Wow!!

Thanks Les, I dug out my PS book and the 250 had the adjustable bridge , the 245 didn't. According to Paul the 250 pickups are based on the Tremonti's " It's a Tremonti without the name on it " per Paul... I think it is AP as it has the Brazilian fretboard and gold HW , this looks like it's twin ..

I suspect so too ...Part of the reason I posted was as a heads up ..as it is likely bogus. As it is on Reverb , I sent a message to Norm with the details. If it ain't legit I'll be glad to help nab the rascal. If it is .. well .. just wow

Looks like an AP to me also. I had one just like it (same finish but not that one). There's the headstock veneer matching the Fretboard that was previously AP only. It should have the #7 pickups.

Locking tuners, adjustable bridge, and uncovered pickups are the giveaways. SC250.
#7’s ended with the Original Singlecuts, which were covered and the guitars came with vintage style tuners.
Now to really make things go sideways are the SC245s that were introduced with the SC250s, AFTER the Original Singlecuts were discontinued. The SC245s had a shorter scale length, non-adjustable stoptail, and covered SC245 pickups.
<WHEW!>

All I can say is wow that is awesome!! I couldn't even get them to respond to my requests on a guitar they have on Reverb, so I went a different direction.

[...] from Norman's Rare, so they notify me I've won a prize ! [...]
'notify' how? In the comment section???
Hope you're also watching the YouTube vids about IRS / Soc.Sec. / GeekSquad / Amazon /etc. scams...

Be careful with this @Greywolf, smells like the new Nigerian scam.
Yeah, smells like a scam...I don't think Norm gives ANYTHING away for free. Never liked his "character" nor the amount of star f#&ckin he does on his channel (Robben Ford hired to play at his daughter's wedding...then shows videos...)

Well Norm confirmed our suspicions ! "Hi James, the comments on our YouTube videos are a scam. We are not giving away prizes. They comment on every video, not only on our channel but other channels as well. We have reported those comments all the time on YouTube, please do not give your card information to anybody. Thank you."

Figured. Those sneaky b(&stards

This story gives me the confidence to open that "You've just won a dream date with Julie Bowen" sweepstakes notification, that I previously thought was just one of you yayhoos pulling my chain!
