Hey, I just bought an 08 Korina McCarty last weekend. My first PRS. I haven't seen any pics similar to this one. Anyways, I've been thinking of changing pickups in the near future. I'm a Jazz musician while I'm ok with the Santana pickup in the neck, I think I'd like something different. I've been considering a Seymour Duncan '59 (I heard Kurt Rosenwinkel does or did use it), a Dimarzio 36th anniversary PAF or maybe a Kent Armstrong or something else. I thought some more seasoned PRS users would have a better idea of the tonal abilities of these instruments.

Sorry for the low quality pics btw!

Some examples of what you want to hear would probably help people suggest alternatives. Are you looking to change both pickups, or?

The question is why are you looking to do the swap? There's about a gazillion humbuckers out there, so it depends on what you're looking to get out of the new set.

I'm looking to get something more *full*? Idk if that's the right way to describe it. I'm really into the tone that guys like, Adam Rogers, John Scofield get.

I guess one example of a PRS user who's tone i like a bit is Lionel Loueke.

Do you have Santana pickups in both positions? Some of those jazz tones can be had by rolling your tone knob down. Sco uses a hollow body too which is a big part of that tone. Don't have much experience with Ssntana pickups but I thought they had a darker tone.

Yeah, all the guys I posted use semi-hollows so I know that effects the tone. I can't remember right off hand what's in the bridge position but it's not one of a Santana.
