NGD Day (aka “Oops”)

So, as much as I love my SEs, I’ve had a hankering for a Maryland-build PRS. I’ve not payed any attention to guitars for the past 3 years due to “life”, so I was delighted to learn of the S2 Thinlines, as the control layout is more to my liking than any other I’ve seen on a PRS.

After a few days of online research, I started looking at what was out there, and came across a slightly used ‘21 S2 McCarty 594 Thinline in Frost Blue for a decent price, so I ordered it. “I’m done now, except for the wait for delivery”; or so I thought…

The next day,I get a notification for a “demo” of the same model in Cherry finish… at a lower price! So I did what I suspect many of you would… and now I have two.

I know the rules, so here are the pics. (I already had the 2018 Signature Club truss rod cover; too bad that program got axed).

BTW… Apparently “demo” means @we inspected it, wiped it down, and put it back in the box”. Deal of the century, as the total price was $200 less than the used one. As for the blue, other than one minor finish ding (that you really have to look for), it’s basically like-new.

I absolutely love this model. The only “negative” is that I want another one in Tobacco Sunburst. So, help me Forum Fam…

Now here’s some redundancy to can get on board with!

I’d like to try one of those 594 Thinlines. I love my core 594, and also my S2 Standard, so that could be a cool intersection of those things.

I'm sure it would be a nice compliment to those, although the thinner neck might take some getting used to.

Thanks. Unplugged, your can feel and hear that the Cherry is more resonant, but they sound about the same amplified.
