NGD Custom 24 Piezo (That bewitching Carroll Blue!)

Very Nice, The Piezo is the only core I don't have yet. It is on my list though.
Surprising amount of tones available with the piezo. Tones are like good flavor in food. More is usually better. The shop (Matt's Guitars in Manassas--awesome dudes) also installed a pull/push pot so the neck HB can now be split alone.

Really nice, that will make a nice combo of tones. The PRS Core with a Floyd is my favorite to play as far as feel but not a fan of the switching and pickups, eventually one of these days I will replace all that. The \v/ Metal pickups just are not that great sounding. IMO would like them to just be the same as the rest of the cores. I just prefer floyds. but I am a late 80s guitarist.

Floyds are da bomb. One of my old Ibanez axes had one and I'd love to have one again. Great fun!

Thanks @ElrytNamrogo ! And I had absolutely no idea about how cool this thing sounds when you blend the Mag/Piezo...What's your favorite configuration of the pickups?

Isn't it great?!?!

For me, there really isn't a favorite, per se...but I like everything it does. I run mine dual output style, with the piezo running to a small acoustic-centric board, that then runs to an acoustic amp. Like you, I really like blending the sounds and depending on the song or overall feel, I generally like one side more present than the other.

Some songs might want the magnetic side at the forefront....a chunky, gain-y riff with the piezo side slightly below it in volume.

Sometimes a primarily-acoustic song with big open chords sound great with the magnetic side running through a tad bit of gain and just a smidge of volume.

Songs that have lots of individual note picking sound great with robust piezo, and position four on the 5-way blade (single-coil neck and bridge) on the magnetic side at a slightly lower volume than the piezo. I'll usually add a decent reverb or modulation to that magnetic side to really dress it up nicely.

To me, it's the most fun guitar to play because of how many different tones and sounds you can get out of it.

I gave away my acoustic amp a couple of years ago, not foreseeing how it might come in handy now. Yeah, position four on the 5 way, combined with the piezo is very cool, and I will try to get better at modulating the mix between HB and piezo. Absolutely a palette of sound.

It really is!

Somewhere down the road, I'd highly recommend finding a decent little acoustic amp. You can definitely get some fantastic sounds through the mix-output, but man there really is something special about being able to split that signal and EQ your piezo sound a bit more to your liking!

Sounds like you're enjoying yours as is, though....so to that, I say "rock on!"🙌🤘
