I always like to add a little bit of my thought process on my NGD's so here goes. As many of you know, I burn thru guitars. I seriously keep newspapers longer (obviously thats a joke, who has newspapers??). I would like to think I am very particular as to what I like but I think its more of a GAS issue. One guitar that I do have, and have had for about a year (which is a MAJOR accomplishment for me) is a Paul's Guitar. While there are several things I love about that guitar, one thing that stands out to me, above anything else, is it's tone. Now I'm not the type of guy who believes my tone is better than yours or that there is only one good tone but there is a tone I hear in my head that I try to achieve when I set up my amp/guitars. I believe all guitar players are that way. Look at David Grissom..perfect tone for him..not my tone, but absolutely perfect for him. All guitars players are like that, it could be a Clapton or Deville! With the Paul's guitar I can get my tone. So I decided I needed another guitar with that ability, hence the 408. I thought about another Paul's guitar, but the fundage was not there plus I was hoping that the 408 would be a bit hotter in the bridge, which it is. Anyway, I got the 408 on Wednesday and can't put it down. The pickup switching is easy (I like the toggle switches over the push/pull) and can get a plethora of very usable tones. The pattern neck feels perfect to me. Here are the specs from the MODCAT..
