Acoustically, plays like a dream!
Will hook it up to the Axe III or Helix a
little while! Did not buy it to sit in
a case!

Pics do not do it justice, especially since I used Facebook to host the pics real quick. Nerfed rez.

Almost want to call it a section of "folded flame"...LoL!!!!

Yeah, that section behind the bridge makes what is already a dead sexy guitar super interesting and unique. This baby is one the coolest guitars I’ve ever seen. Big congrats man.

Beautiful! Love that top and matching back plates. Congrats!

BTW - I thought the color was blue steel on the listing? Yeah, I had that one on my (still way too many) watch list! :)

What's crazy is what PRS support sent me about the guitar versus what was on the listing.
I'll copy paste both.
No Private Stock paper. I just emailed Lark Guitars in Texas and asked if the 2012 Experience ones didn't always have one or if the original owner kept/lost it. Also, I still doubt this guitar was played other than someone who religiously cleaned it thoroughly after every use and was an expert at handling them. Still has an unfilled warranty card in the case.

Corrected:
Don't know if this is a DGT/408 hybrid. LoL, although I've never felt a DGT neck if that was the only thing DGT.
Fretboard looks more like the cocobolo than the advertised pernambuco (my 594 has it).

The listing-
Model: 408 PRS Experience 2012 LTD PS#3881
Neck Wood: Figured Mahogany (correct)
Fingerboard Wood: Pernambuco w/ Curly Maple Binding (agree with PRS on cocobolo)
Top Wood: Curly maple (correct)
Body Wood: Figured Mahogany (correct)
Headstock Veneer Wood: Curly Maple (matching) w/ Curly Maple Binding (correct)
Neck Carve: Pattern RRegula (having never felt a DGT carve, gonna give the nod to PRS as DGT)
Side Dots: MOP (need to look at this more closely)
Fingerboard Inlays: Old Birds Silver MOP (after seeing other pics of black lip MOP, think that's what it is per PRS records)
Headstock Veneer Inlays: PS Small Eagle w/Experience 2012 Banner - Silver MOP (black lip MOP)
Finish Type: HG Nitro (correct)
Pickups: Treble: 408 Bass: 408 (correct)
Electronics: Volume, Tone Control, 3-way Toggle and 2 Mini Switches for Coil-Tap (correct)
Hardware: Gold/Nickel PRS Trem, Phase III Locking Tuning Pegs with Ebony Set Screw Buttons (buttons look like cocobolo per PRS)
Set-Up: D’Addario .010 (correct)
Case type: Private Stock Brown Leather (correct)
Weight: 8Lbs. 10oz. (haven't weighed, but it's not a 10+ pounder)
Specials: 2012 PRS Experience LTD Guitar, Pernambuco Fretboard, Matching Headstock, Matching Curly Maple Back Plates. (cocobolo fretboard).

I don't suspect ANY foul play AT ALL!
Unless Paul Reed Smith or one of his prized luthiers did it, this thing looks like the day it came off the factory floor. Having ordered my ChineseRS experiment spec'd out (it's decent faking) and having SE's, and S2's, this is above the average core crafting. And that top... Sweet Jesus, that top..........

My speculation is that there may have been occasional confusion with Experience Private Stocks... Or at least this one.

Would love to have the paper, but I'd rather have this guitar and case any day over the paper. No doubt where this guitar was produced!!!

Experts, come join in on the mystery that is now my prized jewel of the herd...

I got to play it for an hour and a half through Axe III with the Mission Gemini dialed up to above small gig levels. Did some lower volume stuff first just to ease until it.

This may be #1 with the 509 nudged to #2... wasn't bling influenced because lots of you know my 509 is a sweetie, too. :D

Now if I can find REAL guitarist to play these things...o_O:eek::confused:

This is special to me in another way because it looks a lot like that Terry C. McInturff Glory Custom in my avatar pic that I never should have gotten rid of. Bought it around 2000 for $3k+ back when you could buy nice 10 top PRSi for less. It was a quirky guitar, but it was my favorite. Had a lot of Hamer USA guitars back then, too.

This one smokes the Glory Custom from my memory!
