Hi Everyone - I'm new around here and just got my first PRS guitar! It's a 2006 20th Anniversary Singlecut and I'm hoping you all can lend your expertise in answering a few questions. As you can see below, it's a pretty unique color that has been described to me as "Lake Mirage." Has anyone seen this color before? Also, the tags for guitar state that it has PRS 8 pickups (see below). I was under the impression that these guitars typically came with PRS 7s, and I'm not very familiar with PRS 8s. Does anyone have any good info on these? Last, could anyone explain to me what "Custom" under the SP Order line means? This is, hands down, the best guitar I've ever played! Thanks in advance, everyone!!

This from the PRS Model History
SINGLECUT: 2000 - 2006. Singlecut body shape with carved maple top, mahogany back and neck, rosewood fretboard, 25” scale length with 10” fretboard radius, optional bird inlays, Wide Fat neck carve, PRS #7 Treble and Bass pickups, two volume and two tone controls with 3-way toggle on upper bout.

They are brilliant guitars, I have a 2001 model with #7's but I suspect they changed the pups for the anniversary model but, as per my previous posts on these guitars, my history ain't up to much

Fantastic guitar, and you absolutely lucked out on the pickups. See the reply in this thread by our trusted member Hansomatic, who knows his PRS lore. The #8s are apparently very limited production pickups that Paul had wound for himself and certain friends:

As to the color, it's very similar to Fender's Lake Placid Blue. I've never seen a PRS painted that color, personally. So you have a one-off!

HNGD and a real score by the sounds of things. Great colour.

Rare color, rare pickups and 20th birds? Looks like a win, win, win to me! Congrats!

Congrats, and welcome to Club SC! That's a gorgeous color. There may be a clue in the pickup cavities if you ever pull them.

Killer! Looks like there Paul wrote something on the control panel cover that wore off. Can you make out what it says?

Wow - what a score! Amazing, and congratulations!!
I do love that color!

Thanks everyone, I'm very excited about this guitar! I hadn't really paid much attention to the back cover because it was worn off so badly. Upon closer inspection, it looks like it MIGHT say 'To' and then something indecipherable. I can take a closer picture of anyone is interested.

Try using a black light to read it. Sometimes paint/ink will fluoresce under a black light.

that blue is awesome and with the see through buttons... looks stunning

but to bad the headstock doesn't match IMO
