The dealer has actually been INCREDIBLE to work with on this. Super super impressed.

That being said, I have a bit of a sour taste in my mouth that a guitar at this level/price would need any kind of fretwork done. I am not a blues lawyer or Dentist here - this guitar was a stretch for me to get... The whole appeal in buying the Core was to basically get away from shoddy work, or poorly QC'd guitars.

By contrast...my DGT SE is flawless and doesn't choke out anywhere.

Here is the sound of what I am talking about. I play bends on the 12th fret, you can hear the pinging - then I play some bends around 11 and 13 fret and you can hear that they are pretty clean. Am I crazy?

I hear in the clip what you are talking about. And I understand your frustration on spending what you and I would call big dollars on a product and having to deal with such issues. We do have to consider though that nobody is perfect and things will slip through the cracks. Especially with hand built products. If your dealer does not make things right, I would be pissed, but it sounds like they are taking care of you. Have you asked them for a kickback on funds paid for having to deal with this inconvenience? Even a 5% kickback would be a couple of Benjamin's ;~)) Best wishes on a perfect resolution!

None of that awful black contrast dye that makes a killer top look like photo flame - very nice!

Got the guitar back today and its perfect. My dealer Lauzon Music in Canada is a total boss. Highly recommend.

In the process, I switched from 11-49 to Ernie Ball Ultra Slinky 10-48. Feels great for me now!
