I purchased a 22 PRS S2 594 a couple weeks ago, but didn't want to post an NGD until my mods were complete.

It came with 85/15s pickups and push/pull tone pots. I gutted all of that - I just didn't care for the pickups - and replaced it with Switchcraft switch and output jack, CTS pots, 50's-style wiring, and Seymour Duncan pickups. I put a '59/Custom Hybrid in the bridge and a '59 in the neck. I do my own work, FYI.

I'm really pleased with how it sounds and feels. It's not a core, but it's my first U.S. PRS. The color, I believe, is Eriza Verde Smokeburst.

NOTE: The original tone pots were metric shaft. I had to ream the tone holes for the CTS pots to work.

Holy hell, that is one fine looking top! More power to you for making it yours. I applaud you for knowing what you want. Congrats on a great looking guitars.

I am a fan of the 58/15 LT's. How do your new '59's compare and what did you like about them better than the stock pickups?
Thank you!

The '59/Custom Hybrid is a "throatier" pickup, to my ears. It can be more aggressive, when necessary, but provides more voice than the stock pickups even when dialed down.

The '59 in the neck is just one of my favorite pickups overall. Wound up, it screams. Dialed down, it just sings. That's the only way I can describe it.

Nice

Awesome guitar. Huge congrats!

A '22 S2 SC 594 was my first PRS. Fantastic acoustic tone as good as my Cores. If I'd gotten around to swapping the pickups I might still have it. But that's a really small control cavity so kudos for doing your own swap.

Just a short update -

I had the opportunity over the weekend to really crank up my S2 594. I'm glad I made those upgrades.

"You're scaring your dog," my wife said. "We need to get you a new door for your office so you can play as loud as you like."

I was playing through my Vox AC15-C1, and it just sounded fantastic.

Thanks for the great comments, everyone.
