Are you guys getting sick of my 2020 NGDs yet? (I am most certainly not.) :)

I did a sweet trade deal, one Private Stock plus a little bit of cash for *two* killer 2020 10 Top McCarty models!

First up here, a 25" McCarty in McCarty Sunburst.

This one is very gorgeous, in a classic vintage PRS sort of way! It is weird, in real life there is a darker sunburst, and it has a little green in it like the 50's Les Pauls got when they faded to a Lemon Burst. It looks amazing in that regard! My other McCarty Sunburst guitars have no green at all, and have more of an orange burst. I dig that this one is different, and more vintage. I would call this one a "Dirty McCarty Sunburst". ;)

The top is gorgeous in a classic sort of way, a good 10 Top, but not the most amazing top ever. It has one of those 3D flames that changes with the angle, which is cool. It has the vertical grain lines perpendicular to the flame, which I always love in a vintage finish.

It plays and sounds AMAZING! It blows me away how consistently great the 2020s are. I know I have said that a dozen times, but every time a get another one and it is equally amazing as all the other ones, I feel the need to say it again.

I already had a great Nitro-finished 2020 in Yellow Tiger, but it wasn't the full 2020 spec, it has regular 5815s (versus the LTs), Phase III Tuners, and J-Birds. This one is the full 2020 spec.

I have been infatuated with the 594s since they came out, but this year I have come to really appreciate the 25" McCarty as well. I would have never thought to try one, but they sounded amazing in both the Tim Pierce / Howard Leese video, and this year's Bryan Ewald demo, so I felt I had to give one a try, and I am glad I did!

I think if I were to rank my favorite 3 models right now, it would be close for the SC 594 and the 25" McCarty for #1 and #2, and the DC 594 would be #3. In a DC, I seem to be preferring the 25" McCarty over the DC 594. A big surprise for me, I didn't at all see that coming! ;)

I dig it!!

You’ve posted a parade of killer guitars lately but this is my favorite. I love McCarty’s in McCarty Burst, and my personal preference is 25” - I just can’t bond with 24.5 (or .594) for some reason. It must be epic through the Superplex!

Thanks! I think the McCarty is my favorite as well, it made its way to become my Avatar Guitar. ;)

Yes, sounds terrific through the Superplex! That is a killer amp, KT66-based, so more of a JTM45/100 voicing, but also gets into some higher gain with the second mode and with the built-in boost. Fantastic classic rock tones with a very vintage voicing. I had one a few years ago and foolishly sold it, but George at Metropoulos Amps was kind enough to make me another one, it just came in yesterday with the two new guitars. It was like Christmas here! :)

The PRS HX/DA is also fantastic, that is IMO the best amp PRS has ever made...

A "standard" 25-in.-scale McCarty in McCarty Burst??? Count me in--heck yes!!! Love that they're back to the simple bridge, too; but I see it's the "Paul's guitar" brass-insert one, so that's even cooler.

My '11 model has the open-gear locking tuners (which I like, and the guitar still looks "right") but on yours I dig those vintage tuners too. It's perfect!

With regards to the "Paul's Bridge", the fixed Stoptail with the Brass Inserts, holy cow do those resonate and sustain very powerfully! I have that on this McCarty and the Paul's Guitar, and they both resonate and sustain incredibly well, they feel amazing. Even unplugged. My other 2020 McCarty has the Adjustable version, and it resonates well also, but I think these fixed ones do so a little more powerfully. (Maybe that's the Placebo effect, as that is what Paul says.) ;)

They resonate in way that is different than the 594s. The 594s resonate and sustain very well also, but in a way where there is a different "feel". It is hard to explain.

I am glad to be able to enjoy BOTH options! :) (Well, 3 if you count both versions of the Stoptail!)

Two pics that highlight the Greenish Hue in the Burst of my McCarty Burst McCarty. Dirty Lemonburst! ;)

The SC 594 is also supposedly McCarty Sunburst as well, but much more Orange. My Custom 22 Special Semi-Hollow is almost identical to the SC, but with an Orangey back.

I dig them all! Love me some McCarty Sunburst.
