NGD: 2019 594 Core Fireburst... questions!

Here is my new Core Fireburst 594!

Got a good deal on it here in Canada via Long McQuade. It plays great. I do have some questions for the seasoned pros here.

Pickup Heights

I cannot seem to get the PU Heights to Factory Specs. I had to lower them significantly to get factory specific (yes, fretting the strings at the last fret) - and I actually had the spring/screw drop out of the ear of the neck pickup. That was a pain in the ass - lost a set of strings fixing that! I did end up correcting it - but it seems like if I try to get them lower - even the bridge pickup - it is going to drop out again. I am going by these factory specs:

Treble

2.5/32” [1.9mm] on the treble side.
3.5/32” [2.8mm] on the bass side.

Bass

3.5/32” [2.8 mm] on the treble side.
4.5/32” [3.6 mm] on the bass side.

Any ideas?

Strap Buttons

Looks like the previous owner put on some sort of locking button. Where can I get the PRS strap buttons that are the larger circle type? My CE24 2020 has them. I bought a set of "PRS Strap Buttons" (these are official) and they are NOT the same thing. Can the original ones be sourced anywhere?

the big strap buttons were originally sourced from Fender Bass string T's .. per Paul !
Sweetwater has them .. $10

Adjust the pickups, by ear to your liking. The factory height is just what makes the average player happy.

I dont see the 58/15 engraving? Are those stock pickups?
Do you have room (cavity depth) to use a longer pickup adjustment screw?

Yep, it's the 58/15. The engraving is hard to see under the tarnish, but it is there.

On The Pickups, Adjust By Ear To Your Liking. Factory Spec Is No Guarantee They Will Sound Good To You.

I'll second what others are saying that adjusting pickup height by ear is the way to do it, the PRS recommendations are just a starting point. And @Davey has a good suggestion with longer screws; there's likely some room below the bottom of the current screws that would allow the pickup to be dropped further if that is the best position for the pickups. Too bad you had to hassle with that though and use another set of strings.

Beautiful guitar. I'm on the wagon with the others... if it sounds good, play it! The factory settings are a good reference, but they are adjustable for a reason! I also use an FM9, and that guitar ought to sound awesome through it!
