Maybe I should have come straight home after my lesson but I stopped at the local Guitar store
and ended up bringing home a new to me 2015 PRS SE Bernie Marsden for a very reasonable price
it was listed on Reverb as Mint and it looks it
Plays very well and the tone is great
I have always had a weakness for singlecuts

I have always had a weakness for singlecuts
It's not a problem, it's a feature.

I've never heard anything bad about Bernies. Uniformly great guitars and as I've said before, I'm convinced that at WMI, there were variants of the SE245 including the Bernie and the Soapbar that got special treatment. Huge congrats!

It's funny that this guitar fell into my hands just a few short days after playing the Les Paul Standards 50s & 60s
I had decided I like my PRS guitars better
Well this guitar is very Les Paulish yet has all the good PRS mojo
I could have bought 3 almost 4 of the BM's for what they wanted for the LP
and it's by far the better guitar to me

I played this guitar a lot yesterday
and I have to say I am very impressed
The guitar feels a whole lot more like a core than most SE's
It feels solid without feeling heavy
The neck is comfortable
it has a whole lot of sustain
it's a fun guitar to play

The only negative is I am not so sure about the bridge pickup
That said it was set way too high and I am still playing with finding a good height
but for the most part I am playing it just like it came from the store
Whoever set it up the last time did a good job

I will play for a few days and then do a string change, set up, and intonation
but for now, I am just enjoying it..... A LOT
