Stunning quilt on that one! Not every quilt has that kind of depth to it.

This is a stellar example of the industry leading work done by PRS Private Stock. Now every manufacturer has their version of PRS-esque fades, smoked bursts, dragons breath like finished but nothing quite matches up to the original. I also must say you don't get the kind of quilts you used to get on older private stocks anymore. My 2008 PS 513's is at a different level compared to anything else in the room and this is even better

Thanks, this quilt is getting rare indeed. IMHO no other Laguna Dragon Breath I've seen quite matched up to that one.
It's not just the quilt but the relatively vivid colors and smooth gradation of colors so often absent from Dragon breath patterns.

I went as far as spec'ing a PS like it which I received in January and, while the PS team did an OK job, the end result didn't meet all expectations.
Fantastic feeling and sounding guitar, but it was gone within 6 months.

Finally got to take it apart this afternoon to remove the extensive grime on the fingerboard, remove the heavy oxidation from the pickup covers, and machine the wood mounting rings so they match exactly the plastic tapered ones from PRS.
Those aftermarket wood rings weren't bad at all but not to spec for a PRS tremolo guitar: way too tall (neck pickup was sitting below the top of the ring...), completely flat with no taper unlike the plastic ones, and they came with too deeply recessed countersunk screw holes which looked a little funny.

The guitar has faded very slightly but not much.
Oh great, looking at the pics I just realized I inverted the bridge pickup.

This guitar is ultra-beautiful. Glad that you gave it the TLC and getting up to the shape it should be in.Is it an ebony or an african blackwood fretboard/headstock veneer? I haven't seen wood so rich and dark in ages. Also waiting to see the tuner buttons you are probably going to stain
