Hope everyone has been doing well. I ended up picking up this belated birthday present to myself, earlier this morning at the annual midwest spring guitar show. Slight clouding, but nothing to scare me away. I had already decided before I got home that this custom is getting, a fresh set of 12-62 strings, a 59/09 pickup in the neck, and a Tremonti pickup in the bridge, then tuned to either drop B or C standard. Also the rotary switch is getting tossed. More pictures to follow after the parts swap out.

Great looking Cu24!
What do you use to drill out the tuners for the larger strings?
As far as I know, a 62 gauge string will fit thru the tuner, on both the Customs, and OG Singlecut's. If I were to have to widen, I would use a tapered jewelers file, then run some of the intended string thru the slot to help smooth things out.

I had to drill the Phase II tuners on my 05 Cu22 to get a 56 to fit.
Of course I didn’t like that set of strings and tuning with that guitar. :p:D

You can send the rotary to Sergio or me. We love them.

Red is a hard color to photograph but it’s easy to tell that’s a stunner.

Pleasure!
A few months ago I wasn't fast enough on an amazing offer on a similar guitar! She sold out in 10 minutes!
This is the first red Core I have ever seen in person...now I own it as well I gues lol.

Yeah, I just found out I'm going to need to drill my low e tuner out as well. I could fit a 56 gauge in there, but not the 62. What size drill bit did you use?

If you or Serg want it, you can have it for free. Feel free to PM me.
Sweet guitar, used to see that color all over now not so much love it and congrats.
Like I mentioned above, this is the first red Core I've ever seen.

Yeah it for sure is. In person, it looks more Blood Orange red. I guess when I email PTC tomorrow with the serial # I'll hopefully find out the official color it left the factory as.
Very nice congrats.
Thank you.

Got hot on swapping parts out on Pete this morning.
- TUSQ 43mm nut
- 12-56 strings (drop B)
- Core pickup rings
- 59/09 w/A4 magnet in the neck
- Tremonti bridge pickup
- Switchcraft 3 way selector switch
- Core Lampshade knobs

Still need to do some minor tweaks to the action, and also finish wiring up the switch.
Surprisingly even with the heavier gauge strings installed, the neck is spot on, as far as relief goes, but we will check again in a day or two.

I'm also still on the fence if I am going to keep the black pickup rings on, or if I'm going to install the ivory ones. Either way I can't go wrong.

In regards to the Tremonti pickup, can anyone tell me what to expect tonewise? I have never played one of these pickups. The reason I purchased it, is because I read online awhile back, that the Tremonti bridge pickup is pretty much the
Dragon I pickup. Can anyone confirm this?

Thank you.
I used a drill bit index and used whichever the next size that didn’t fit through the tuner.
I did remove the tuner from the guitar and used a vice to hold it.
