First ever PRS for me. Sounds great, plays well (needs a setup though) and exudes quality. The overall vibe is like a really nice SG with better ergonomics and more pickup switching options. Dragon 1s are loud but not dark - capable of chiminess and work well with the treble bleed on the volume knob.

PRS customer service says this serial number left the factory in "Bonnie Pink" - but this is not pink, and in fact the sunburst pattern doesn't look right to me... I don't see other PRS's with black horns. What do you all think?

If you remove the bridge for a string change, look for signs of faded pink. Or if you remove the pickup rings you should see if it was pink and has faded. Also it should state the color in the bridge pickup cavity.
If there is no fading it is probably a refin, if the writing inside the bridge pickup cavity doesn't match a sunburst.

Thanks for the answers! Will be pulling the bridge pickup to check for info there.

Congratulations, really nice PRS.

A good honest piece of timber.

Bet it rocks!!

It does rock! The Dragon 1 pickups are kinda out there and make me wonder what this guitar would sound like with something a bit more tame. But they are surprisingly flexible and I have always liked the quick attack of ceramic magnets.

EDIT: the neck is Alnico as I understand it - my comments are about that crazy bridge pickup.
