NF53 unannounced new finish?

I reached out to the seller. Not a new finish, but a dealer select one-off.. technically two-off, since the guy said he chose one and the other went off to another dealer.

Worst thing that could have happened to me is getting mine (new) for $2400. I want another but I can't possibly justify paying any more than that for a #2 guitar.

Hot from the front but solid black back doesn’t excite me much. Would’ve been cooler bursted on both sides. We can’t have everything I suppose.

I’d be willing to bet that there’s some kind of cosmetic ugliness in the wood on the back only, hence the black back and burst.

Just loose that ugly pickguard, it takes SO much away from the PRS finishes....just my two cents.

Yeah a cover-up is my guess, too. Still cool-looking, though.

I disagree, Fender-style guitars look dumb without a pickguard.
