NF53 Backplate Needed

I'm in need of a replacement backplate for my NF53. It was removed to be signed by PRS and unfortunately ended up lost....and yes, it's killing me!

Can anyone please provide any details on the part # and hopefully a place that I could order one?

Contact PRS Customer Service. They can arrange to sell you backplates that are not normally available on the website shop - I've had to this when working on lefty Cores.

You can even try to get another one signed and sent to you...I purchased a Chuck Levin's Anniversary issue 594 guitar at Levin's PRS clinic, but could not remove the backplate in time for Paul to sign it. The store and PRS street team arranged to have a signed 594 backplate sent to my home.

If you know the exact place/date where he signed it, that would surely help ("Paul signed my McCarty 594 backplate at the Chuck Levin's clinic on November 21, 2019..."). They might just hook you up. Also, I would buy two if that happens...one plate for the guitar and the signed plate saved to protection (or mounted in a shadow box, perhaps).

Have you asked customer service?
If you could provide the evidence, that the signed backplate got lost (asumed while being shipped), they may be very polite in sending you a new one.

Thanks guys. It was signed at the recent show in Hagerstown, MD and then lost from the vehicle. The whole situation sucks.

I have emailed in to customer service as well as reached out to the PTC team.

Customer service said they didn't have any available to sell to individuals.

I haven't heard back from PRS PTC yet on whether they would be willing to let me buy the part and ship it (not quite been a week yet).

At this point, I'm willing to drive the 2 hours to their facility and have them install the dang plate if that's what it takes. I just can't easily find a replacement.

On Reverb there are some offers for NF53 pickguards and packblates, maybe they provide you a proper replacement.

Saw those...unfortunately, I'm looking for the factory replacement.

I was wondering tho if there was another model that uses the same plate? The plate for the 594 looks close.

The NF53 plate has screw holes near the center of the parallelogram lines vs near the corners.

I can't give proper advice.

I changed all plastic plates to rosewood ones. I sent the measures to a luthier, who manufactured it.

Back in the days I had a funny issue with my new bought guitar. A 2011th 513 MT.
This guitar was right hand only.
The trader took the guitar - without installed vibrato arm - out of the case for pictures for their webshop. And returned the guitar back in their storage.

I found the guitar while searching the net with my demanded specs.
Ordered and paid it. It was shipped.

I opened the case at home installed the arm.
Uh, a lefty arm...

I called my trader and asked for the proper right hand arm. And because of the assumed wrong assembly I asked additonally for a signed backplate.
Really quick two things travelled the Atlantic.

Due to the fact that you bought your NF53 at an official PRS trader, ask them, if they take over getting a replacement.
