New to the forum!

Welcome to the forum and congrats on the new axe! The DGT SE guitars have generated a lot of well deserved hype. Coming from the Les Paul world I wonder what you think of the tremolo bridge. Do you find yourself ignoring it?

No, the trem was a huge selling point for me. The guy I bought it from had the trem locked down and the action high to accommodate slide playing. I immediately restrung it with a hybrid set of strings and floated the trem. Of course, I also had to do a setup and intonation. It took a bit go get the strings to stop stretching and I will say that the nut probably need some work. But I'm finding the guitar is holding tune fairly well, but not yet perfectly.

At this point, my strat does a much better job at returning to pitch, but the PRS it doing a more than passable job. I'll keep tweaking till I get it right! I do question the six screw design though... With all the other optimizations that PRS is known for, why not a two point trem, I wonder? I'm sure there is a reason!

I have a 2002 Swamp Ash Special and a 2004 CE22 that both have the six screw trem and are very stable. They are both set up to float and I use it often. It's my G&L Legacy with two point trem that I have blocked because it won’t stay in tune after diving. Hope it’s just a setup issue with your new PRS.

Glad you’re enjoying it! I was curious myself about the bridge design. Here’s what the official site has to say about the patented bridge and its history, PRS Tremolo Bridge. The Fiore has a two point bridge, if you’re ever curious about a PRS with that feature.

Hi all!

I'm a guitar player for some 40 years, living in Austin, TX, and I just got my first PRS. Its a second-hand DGT SE tobacco burst w/birds. So, far I'm really impressed with the tone and playability. I've been searching for something to take the place of my Gibson Les Paul that I sold almost 15 years ago because I could no longer take the weight. I think I might have found my solution at an incredible price!

Anyway, just wanted to introduce myself and say howdy!
