Hey guys, I am new to the forum and actually new to PRS as well!

I am not a pro or anything like that, but I love guitars and always wanted to have a PRS, BTW English is not my first language, so you all are going to have to excuse me if I say something wrong.

I sold my old Ibanez (S series) prior to moving to the US a few years ago. I finally had the chance and the resources to buy a new guitar and of course I wanted a PRS. After doing a little bit of research, I purchased one of the 30th anniv S2's from Sweetwater. I really did not want to spend 3k on a guitar that I know I wont be playing that much. I also did not like the maple tops used on the S2 line, however I thought this one was not that bad. I have to say I am very pleased with this guitar and just wanted to share a couple of pictures with you. I did change the pickup rings and installed some dunlop straploks without any problems. Any thought on the SE tremolo? What about the S2 HFS / VB pickups?

Welcome and congratulations! That's a great-looking S2...and it's amazing what changing the pickup rings on it does for the overall look - love it.

The SE trems by all accounts function well, but I feel like the overall materials are on the bargain-basement end. Okay her for awhile, and if you are underwhelmed by the sustain, then you could consider upgrading the block to a brass one, and getting USA saddles and mounting screws as well (links below):

SUSTAIN BLOCK: https://store.guitarvaultusa.com/Block_PRS_SE_S2_trem_vib_brass_upgrade_p/2053.htm
SADDLES: https://store.guitarvaultusa.com/Vibrato_Bridge_Saddle_Set_Nickel_p/4001.htm
SCREWS: https://store.guitarvaultusa.com/product_p/4002.htm

For a little more you could replace he bridge outright with a MannMade one-piece. But then of course, you are getting into "gently used Core PRS" territory, and you might not want to spend so much.

Very nice. Easily one of the top 5 tops I've ever seen on an S2. Congrats!

I like the se tremolo , no problems what so ever. The hfs pickups are great too, love them as well. Wow I ave nothing bad to say about the s2's, maybe because I own too lol....I did change my pickups in mine, only because I wanted to try the Emg hetset out....I have the hfs in my se cu24 Floyd and really like them. My daughter also has a set in her Clint lowrey as well and she likes them too....

Finally! Someone changed out the black pup rings! I never liked the look of them on anything but a white guitar.

It looks fantastic. Congrats and Happy New Guitar Day!

Oh, you seem to have a better handle on English than most Americans.

Beautiful guitar, OP! Congrats!

Wow, the black ones never bothered me but after seeing your comment I compared and thought on the pic with the changed (now white) rings the guitar looks much better and also more expensive haha! Awesome

thanks a lot for the advise on the SE trem upgrade options... I will give it a try for a couple of months and see how it goes.
