New To PRS - Help Pick My NGD

As the title says I am new to PRS but have owned and sold hundreds of nice guitars (mostly metal and prog style).

I want one with a nice top and a flame maple neck. I like thinner necks but the classic Jackson / Gibson explorer necks are fine.

Ideal specs:
Used Guitar
Ebony fingerboard
Flame maple neck
Flame maple top
Hardtail
24 frets
Thin neck
Dual humbuckers

What PRS is this? Wood library? Or custom 24?

For a flamed maple neck and 24 frets your looking at a wood library custom 24 or 24-08. They generally also have pattern thin necks. Ebony fretboard is dealers choice - if they spec a flame maple neck with ebony then your in business. But - hardtails are few and far between. You might have to go private stock for that.

Off the rack that's a tough one to check all those boxes. The 24 fret hard tail is going to be the kicker. You could look for a P24 or older core Mira but then ebony may be an issue.


If you can live with a trem things get easier. I'm a trem guy and PRS are easily my favorite. You could always block it. A custom 24 with a wide thin neck is what I'd be looking for. You'd have tons of options, maybe even look for an artist package.

I should also add that a wide thin neck isn't all that thin or wide, it's pretty normal to me and my preferred neck.
