Hi all, new member here.

Recently acquired a 2016 PRS CE24 in Satin Blueburst Finish.

I have recently bought a pickup, but I don't have much information on it. The guy said he pulled it out from a PRS CE22 guitar. Was wondering if it's a G&B pickups.

Would appreciate any help, thanks.

Those are interesting to say the least. I’ve never seen any with that kind of rating and writing. Also, what is up with the nuts on the screw poles?

If he pulled them from a PRS, he bought it used cuz they didn't come from the factory.

thanks for the replies, i really appreciate it.

i only paid 60 AUD. yeah, i actually cant tell what these pickups are. Only info i've got is that it was pulled from an old PRS CE22. Apparently the person who owned the guitar had the pickups for 15+ years.

There were some unmarked ones floating around the factory. I have a set of what were sold as early #7's. They were bought from a former employee who had them in his personal guitar. A different former employee told me they were legit. The two didn't know each other.

thanks so much for your reply.

Now the only odd thing is the ohms on the pickups. Is there a site where i can find the pickup rating/ohms for prs #7s pickups?

There are a lot of odd things.
  • The baseplate is not a type used by PRS.
  • The yellow lead wire with black sheath is not something they do/did. I can't think of any maker who uses yellow leads, actually.
  • The nuts on the pole screws is something I haven't seen on any pickup. I don't know why the maker would have something blocking the screw holes, but it looks like the nuts are needed to keep that side of the pickup secured to the base. PRS pickups will have four screws in the baseplate.
  • The HFS, SC250, and Tremonti treble pickups hit the 15-16k range, but that's a very high reading for any neck pickup.
  • It looks like they have covers, which are not soldered?
