Hi,

I just started learning guitar this year and after lots of research, I finally decided on my first electric - the PRS SE Standard 24 Tobacco Sunburst.

After waiting for delivery about a month, I finally received it today. Upon unboxing I find these paint chips on both sides of the neck when it joins the body. When I touch that part it feels like the paint surface is starting to lift off. There are also some glue marks along the neck too.

Since this is my first PRS I'm wondering if this is normal? I'm really surprised and disappointed though, given all the raves in blogs, reviews and youtube videos for this particular model.

Thanks,
Baxter

Thanks guys. I'm now contacting the dealer for further assistance. What's interesting is that the inspection tag is signed and dated 12/4/2018. I don't know how this escapes inspection.

Yikes!

Maybe it was OK visually, but temp change during shipping added stress. Whatever the case, it's good that it came that way, rather than down the road a piece. Clearly a mfrg flaw.

Hope they set you up with a new one quickly.

Looks like it took a hit while in transit...with those chips, I think it's safe to say that it wouldn't get through the factory like that.
Definitely return it for another one. BTW...the reviews are right...you'll love it when you get the new one.
